RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK and BLUE GASCONY BASSET
The Rhodesian Ridgeback originates from South Africa. As early as the 17th century, a dog with a reverse ridge of hair on its back was described in the area of Southern Rhodesia (today's Zimbabwe). The main task of the Rhodesian Ridgeback was to keep predators, especially lions, at bay. However, this dog also played the role of a family companion. Later, it was crossed with European breeds. Its characteristics were strengthened by crossing, and the ridge stripe was also preserved. In 1922, at a breeders' meeting in Bulawayo, the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed standard was recognized and registered.
The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a dignified and balanced dog, open and affectionate towards its loved ones, but reserved towards strangers. It is a suitable dog for a sporting family. Otherwise, it is a gentle companion who is willing and able to protect its home and family if necessary.
We have been breeding this breed since 1997.
Blue Gascony Basset
The Blue Gascony Basset is an old breed that originated in France. We know that these dogs existed as a separate breed at the end of the 19th century. We will probably never know how the breed originated. In our country, breeding of this breed is still rare.
The Blue Gascony Basset has its own charm, interesting personality and pleasant and cheerful nature, it is never boring. It is very lively, alert, agile, full of joy and enthusiasm for movement. It is independent and can be quite stubborn. An interesting smell may be more important to it than your command, however, it is a gentle, kind and loving dog for the whole family. The Basset is a very sociable dog. It likes to be in contact with people and handles the role of a family dog very well. It gets along with children and other pets. It is very grateful for a caress or praise. As for hunting skills, it is ideal for hunting game. Although it is an expert on rabbits, it also easily hunts deer and black deer. Its appearance and movement do not scare animals. It is agile, persistent, resistant to adverse conditions. It has a resonant voice.
